This very successful campaign is returning for it’s fourth year in the week beginning Monday 9 November culminating with the ‘Big Switch off’ on Friday 13 November. The energy saving campaign aims to show the electrical savings that can be achieved when lots of people turn off unwanted electrical appliances.offers guidance for businesses, communities and support for the home with detail of how to make a difference and encourage others around you to.
We encourage you to get involved in this effective campaign which has also been recommended for several awards, since it began. The 2006 campaign was shortlisted in the Communications Category of the Energy Institute Awards 2007, came runner-up in Sustainable Development UK Awards 2008 and was shortlisted for the Sustainable Cities Award organised by the City of London. The 2007 campaign won the Communications Award in the Energy Institute Awards 2008.
This is a campaign which Act on Energy, Coventry and Worcestershire Councils have been running and working with Warwickshire on since it began in 2006, with Act on Energy are coordinating the campaign. In addition to this, electricity use will be measured across all three local authority areas during the campaign by Central Networks.
