SWM are recruiting for a Senior Sustainability Adviser – deadline 10.12.21

 (SWM) was established in 2002 and is the sustainability adviser for the leaders of the West Midlands. Our vision is that the West Midlands is leading in contributing to the national target of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 whilst addressing health inequality and driving inclusive growth. This is framed through our Roadmap to 2030. We’re a not-for profit company that works with members who are leading individuals and organisations in the private, public, and third sectors. We have over 100 diverse members including large businesses like Arup, Grant Thornton, Hortons’ Estate, Mott MacDonald, National Express, Severn Trent, Tarmac and Veolia.

The role 

With our proven success, our team needs to grow. You will be central to our small dynamic team that has been making a difference throughout the West Midlands for almost 20 years. The Senior Sustainability Adviser will provide solid and effective project delivery for the organisation while helping it grow. This is through direct project delivery, developing our staff to deliver, and helping our Chief Executive, Anna Bright, to secure new business in line with our Vision. The role helps deliver the objectives in the current SWM Business Plan to 2025. We work with customers across the UK as well as the region, with recent projects including work for the Climate Change Committee, the Environment Agency, the West Midlands Combined Authority, local authorities, universities and businesses. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with over five years’ experience in sustainability consultancy, wanting to apply these skills to help grow our organisation. Shortlisted candidates for interview will be notified as soon as possible after their application is received.
