SWM Green Leaders – The shortlist

The time has come to reveal the Green Leaders of the West Midlands! At tomorrow’s UKBCSD Mobility 2025 event in Birmingham the winners of our competition to find those who go above and beyond to provide exceptional environmental and social benefits will be announced. The shortlisted candidates for the three categories (private, public, and third sector) have been informed and invited to attend as our guests. The finalists are:

  • Private sector:
    • Ann Tonks: Managing Director, Opus Restaurant
    • Andy Whyle, Environment & Sustainability Specialist, Ricoh UK Products Limited
  • Public sector:
    • Ben Boswell, Energy & Environmental Management Team Leader, Herefordshire Council
    • David Whitehouse, Waste Management Project Manager, Warwickshire County Council
  • Third sector:
    • Georgia Stokes, CEX, Wildlife Trust for Birmingham & the Black Country
    • Kate Gathercole, Founding Director, New Leaf Sustainable Development Ltd

Following the success of previous competitions in 2010 and 2011, we are delighted to once again reward the region’s leading individuals that play a key role in leading us towards a more sustainable future. We are proud to have received many exceptional applications that demonstrate what can be done, with hard work and passion, to improve our environment and society. We thank all those who applied and wish the finalists the best of luck at tomorrow’s awards.
