SWM member Aston University looking to recruit Bioenergy Support Centre Manager
The BSC Manager will work with the European Bioenergy Research Institute at Aston University. This is an exciting secondment opportunity to Birmingham City Council to manage and coordinate the activities of the West Midlands Bioenergy Support Centre established as part of the BioenNW Interreg IVB project. They are looking for a candidate who will bring together business, public sector, academia and other stakeholders active in the bioenergy sector in and around Birmingham. The successful candidate will be required to set up its organisational structure and implement an operating model to encourage new proposals to support industry-oriented projects, particularly in identifying development sites for commercial opportunities to realise new bioenergy opportunities. The role holder should be educated to degree level with strong organisational and managerial skills, together with excellent knowledge of current national carbon reduction priorities and emerging technologies promoting carbon reduction. An ability to work in a European and multicultural multi-lingual environment is essential.
