SWM member Birmingham City Council reports 3 year progress of the Green Commission

SWM member Birmingham City Council recently presented the 3 year progress of the Green Commission to their scrutiny committee on March 23rd. The Chair of the Commission is Cllr Lisa Trickett, who is also an SWM Board member, and many of our members are involved on the commission or on working groups. Our Chair Peter Braithwaite has been recently invited to join the commission, while we feed into an officers group to help bring our cross-LEP and local authority and business networks to help the wider Green Commission network covering Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP. In the past our advice to the Commission has included improving wider communications, reporting on progress and linking this back to the local democratic scrutiny process. We are delighted that the Commission has made significant steps in this direction with a regular newsletter, project progress reporting, and now the recent scrutiny committee. This allowed Birmingham officers and Councillors to reflect on the progress to date and the future priorities for the City.
