The Churchill Fellowship is now open for Applications

Applications will close on 14 November at 5pm.

Applications for Churchill Fellowships are now open.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make change happen in an issue you care passionately about.

Churchill Fellows are funded to spend up to two months discovering new approaches and best practice in their chosen topic, from innovators and leading professionals worldwide.

Global learning can be carried out in person (through international travel), online from the UK (through online meetings with individuals and organisations in other countries) or a mixture of the two.

You will then be supported to share your insights and turn these ideas into action in the UK.

Chief Executive Julia Weston said: “We look forward to welcoming applications from any UK resident citizen, over 18, with a vision for change in their community or profession.”

Fellowships are open to all UK adult citizens regardless of their age, qualifications or background.

Applicants and projects that would not receive funding from any other source are prioritised, and those with lived or learned experience of the issue they wish to address, are also welcomed.

The Fellowship experience is life-changing for many.

In their annual survey of Fellows’ impact, the majority report significant growth in their knowledge, networks, confidence and standing – and projects that may have started with local aspirations have often grown to national scale. In the 2021 survey, 100% of Fellows said they would recommend applying for a Fellowship.

This year applications can be made in one of these topical themes:

  • Arts and communities
  • Caring for our natural environment
  • Children and young people with experience of care
  • Climate change
  • Education in schools
  • Palliative and end of life care
  • Physical activity for healthier lives
  • Resilient economies and communities
  • Tech for all
  • Open theme for anything beyond this range

Applications made this year are for projects to begin from August 2024 onwards.
