The University of Sheffield has recently made the switch to zero carbon, 100% renewable electricity with Birmingham-based energy company, Bryt Energy.
Contract
The signed contracts will ensure the entire University’s estate will be supplied with zero carbon, 100% renewable electricity, sourced solely from Wind, Hydro and Solar power. This covers all the University’s buildings, including their central campus, accommodation, and all other facilities.
With electricity being the largest component of the University’s on-campus carbon emissions, their switch to renewables will have a dramatic impact on their carbon footprint and shows the University’s commitment to sustainable development.
Switching to a 100% renewable electricity contract is an important step in our sustainability work and follows the University work in aiming to be completely divested from fossil fuels and incorporate sustainable development into our education.Bryt Energy
