Transport for West Midlands has outlined its travel advice for businesses for employees returning to work. They have ultimately outlined that the network is open and safe, that they are not able to carry as many people as they did before at peak times.
Businesses in the West Midlands are being encouraged to support the network and make sure space is available. TfWM has outlined that in order to make sure the network runs smoothly that businesses need to:
- Plan Ahead – Ask employees to plan ahead and check their journeys before they travel
- Walking & Cycling – Encourage and support those walking and cycling
- Agile Working – Introduce or continue, where possible, flexible working arrangements to limit journeys being made on the network. If any business requires support in setting up flexible working, as well as stats and information on the benefits of this approach, their FREE Agile Working Toolkit can be downloaded here.
- Staggered Start Times –Where possible, they are asking businesses to consider staggered start times. Allowing staff to change the time they travel, even by 10 or 20 minutes will help keep everyone moving and keep everyone safe.
