is looking for some passionate, committed and dynamic people willing and able to help take The Trust forwards. Over the past year, The Trust has seen many changes, including the appointment of a new Chief Executive, Georgia Stokes. It has many challenges to face, such as the increasing competing demands made of our urban green spaces by our growing populations in the context of potentially large local authority budget cuts. There are however many exciting opportunities, including working more closely on health and well-being issues, developing our education services and finding new ways to increase our membership. Much has been achieved over recent years, including managing the only urban Nature Improvement Area in the country and as the first urban Wildlife Trust established in the UK it has a heritage to be proud of. The Trust is looking for new trustees to complement the skills and experience of its existing board. In particular, they would like to hear from people with high level skills in at least two of the following areas:
- Financial governance
- Land management
- Education and/or community engagement
- Business development and income generation
- Legal
- Fundraising and marketing
- Networking and relationship building
- Ecology or nature conservation
- Health and well being
Te relevant documents, including a person specification, role description and skills audit can be found on The Trust’s website. The skills audit is to make sure they are putting together a team comprising all the skills necessary to take The Trust forward. If you or someone you know is interested and able to commit to quarterly evening meetings (18:15 to 20:15 usually on a Wednesday) plus involvement in one sub-committee, please do get in touch. This is a voluntary position. Applications should be made by submitting a full CV and covering letter to Georgia.s@bbcwildlife.org.uk. The deadline for applications is Friday, 11 December 2015.
