An exciting new volunteer placement offered through the RegenWM placement service as a Climate Change Adaptation support officer has just been posted. The role will involve working part time (expense renumeration available) with the West Midlands Climate change adaptation partnership, part of the West Midlands Climate change office.
The successful graduate will be helping to raise the profile of climate change adaptation in the region. This work will focus on three key project areas:
- Climate Change Adaptation best practice in the West Midlands – collating and sourcing examples of adaptation practices across all sectors – to provide a resource (report) for the region, including key messages.
- Understanding the role of CC Adaptation in the Building Schools for the Future initiative within the region; this will involve working with key local authority contacts, scoping out the current stage of progress in the region and identifying further work required.
- Identifying funding opportunities for further Climate Change adaptation projects in the region – networking with other key partners and looking for joint working opportunities and new funding that may become available through national, regional and local initiatives.
