West Midlands led European Climate Change Network announced

This week we have heard that a West Midlands consortium and other European partners, led by AWM, is to become one of the first three European Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KIC), to be launched in January 2010. This KIC will link universities, research organisations, demonstration sites and businesses across Europe in a high profile collaboration with the objective of developing new entrepreneurs, new products, new business and new businesses in the low carbon arena.

SWM has already met many of the European partners and will be working with AWM and the partnership to ensure our broader membership can contribute to the training, good practice visits, and new business opportunities of the network.

Congratulations to all the partners who put in the hard work in developing this project and securing European funding and support.
