West Midlands MP -v- Climate Change Committee – who won?

West Midlands MP and former Secretary of State for the Environment, Owen Patterson, recently spoke out about his views that the 2008 Climate Change Act and supporting legislation should be torn up. The Spectator published the full text of his speech to the Global Warming Policy Foundation. The independent advisers to Government on the Climate Change Act and progress on targets, the Committee on Climate Change, chaired by another former environment minister, Lord Gummer,  has published a response. We will leave it up to you to decide who won the debate. Another West Midlands MP, Joan Whalley, Chair of the Environment Select Committee, will be speaking at our Annual Conference in November on the overall progress by Government to date, and what we can do to help.
