What are you doing?- Network Update

The Climate Change Act was modified earlier this year and now commits the UK to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. SWM has recently published its new 2030 Roadmap and our vision, which is aligned with this national legislationthe West Midlands is leading in contributing to the national target of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 whilst addressing health inequality and driving inclusive growth. We recognise that many of our public sector stakeholders have set even more locally ambitious targets for their authorities alongside declaring climate emergencies, and as ever we are keen to help you. We want to understand what work they are doing regarding Climate Emergencies We want to hear from you. If you have done some work, no work, have developed a strategy, whatever it may be, we want to know about it so we can gain a greater understanding of the state of the region. Beyond this, we will be able to share these good practice examples with others who are eager to create change but aren’t too sure where to start. This bank of examples will help get as many organisations across the region in a good position to tackle their own climate emergencies and we will share them with you as and when we receive more information. If you are an organisation that is struggling to get started on tackling your own climate emergency declaration or meeting your net zero target, SWM can help in many different ways. Get in touch for more information.
