Why Building Performance Matters
The importance of building energy efficiency has never been so important at Willmott Dixon. As their core value, they want to offer energy performance optimisation as standard on all projects, leaving a true built environment legacy. This is currently being explored by their industry-leading Energy Synergy team who are conducting long term studies on several of their projects.
Energy Synergy identifies the factors that affect energy performance such as unrealistic energy modelling, design and systems management that is not focused on operational outcomes, and allows these issues to be rectified.
- So far, their approach has saved customers between 5-15% in energy/operating costs and reduced associated carbon emissions
- Warwick Sports and Wellness Hub- embedding Energy Synergy building performance improvement strategy into the after-build service leading to energy savings of £40,236 and a carbon saving of 98,520 kgCO2e in the first year
There has been an impressive impact of Energy Synergy on individual buildings. This really shows the huge potential Willmott Dixon have to significantly reduce wasted energy usage and work towards getting to that net zero target.
