WRAP launch free online training tool to help businesses reduce waste and cut costs
A free, accredited online training tool has been launched by WRAP to help SMEs save up to £1,000 per employee by improving the way they manage their resources.
‘On Course for Zero Waste’ provides eight free training modules, templates, case studies and other support material to give businesses the skills and tools they need to improve their financial and environmental performance. The tool also allows users to improve their CVs with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and two course certificates accredited by the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM).
By gaining new skills and expertise it is hoped that organisations will:
- understand how much waste they produce
- identify how waste costs affect profits
- identify simple ways to start reducing waste and save money
- be able to measure the waste and cost savings made
- be able to bring about change
The tool can be found on WRAP’s new online advice centre, the Business Resource Efficiency Hub. The Hub features a suite of online tools including the ‘Rippleffect’ support package to help improve water efficiency and ‘Green Town’ interactive tour with sector specific tips to help businesses see at a glance how they can start to save money by reducing waste.
