As part of the West Midlands Local Authority Low Carbon Economy Programme, Sustainability West Midlands worked with the Energy Saving Trust and other partners to provide capacity building events and online guidance for financial decision makers, lawyers and other officers to improve awareness of the energy and cost-saving, income generation and other benefits of installing energy efficiency and renewable energy measures in existing buildings and the range of funding opportunities and providers for these projects.
The support included a programme of 8 capacity-building events held at locations around the West Midlands during October and November 2011, with follow-up advice and guidance on specific projects provided by the Energy Saving Trust and its partners early in 2012. Presentations from the events programme can be downloaded below.
The project also included production of a funding guide for local authorities to support renewable energy and energy efficiency projects, and a searchable funding database, which can be accessed on the Energy Saving Trust website.
