Key Partner

Project Duration

September 2015 – June 2016

Project Outline

This project consisted of two distinct parts: (1) the production of a report called ‘Fit for the Future?’ and (2) an event to stimulate learning following publication of the report.  The work aimed to assess the commitments of all 39 LEPs in England to reducing carbon emissions, stimulating a low carbon economy and adapting to climate change and provide them with a benchmark of their progress.

The report contained recommendations for both LEP representatives themselves and those national and regional bodies that support LEPs in terms of what they can do to improve their benchmark.  We then convened an event that brought together representatives from LEPs and national bodies who have influence over these, to allow for an opportunity to network with peers and learn from national expertise including from the Environment Agency, DECC, Climate UK and Natural England.
