Overview
Green Advantage is a sustainability short course from Aston University’s Centre for Growth designed to enhance the expertise of business leaders and professionals.
The programme aims to elevate awareness and understanding of climate and environmental challenges, empowering businesses with the expertise to formulate sustainability strategies tailored to their specific sector and role. The course helps businesses in addressing evolving customer and staff preferences, meeting regulatory, procurement, or supply chain demands, and aligning with investor expectations.
Running for 12 weeks and strategically designed to accommodate full-time professional commitments, the programme is delivered through online and face-to-face sessions. SWM Chief Executive Anna Bright is one of two facilitators for the course.
Participants also receive four hours of personalised one-to-one business coaching, offering crucial support in creating a Sustainability Roadmap that can be implemented for positive change in the working environment. SWM Associate Amanda Campbell is one of several coaches for the course.
Since its launch in 2022, the programme has proven beneficial for both SMEs and renowned organisations such as Mars UK, Handelsbanken, National Grid, Mills & Reeve, and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
Testimonial
“We work very closely with SWM on the Green Advantage programme at Aston Centre for Growth and greatly value the experience and perspective they bring as a specialist and well regarded organisation in the field of sustainability. From co-creation of the programme as a member of the programme development steering group to the contribution of expert speakers and mentors during programme delivery, Aston has found SWM’s involvement to be well informed and practical. Anna Bright’s excellent cohort facilitation has enhanced the programme and supported the participants to relate the concepts and ideas to their own workplace and develop a relevant and strategic approach to sustainability for their organisation.“
