Purpose of the workshops

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has provided all 38 Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) in England with funding to develop an energy strategy. Encraft and SWM were successful in bidding to provide the support to Worcestershire LEP to develop its strategy. Encraft, one of our members, is responsible for developing the strategy, whilst SWM has led on stakeholder engagement. This meant convening three workshops inviting key stakeholders to feed in their ideas, local knowledge and expertise on the local energy agenda in order to inform the development of the strategy. This included developing a SWOT analysis of the local energy scene and an opportunity to identify projects and activities that the new strategy could build upon. Attendees came from a variety of backgrounds, including local SMEs, universities and local authorities. The resources show slides delivered by Encraft that provide more information about the strategy, and notes from the workshop sessions that outline the key discussion points.
