Louis March-Smith

Role

In my role as a Project & Data Officer, I support research, reporting, and the delivery of projects run by various colleagues across the team at SWM. This includes contributing to our Climate Change Adaptation work, where I apply data analysis and GIS techniques to map climate projections and assess climate vulnerability. I am also responsible for regularly monitoring and updating our Roadmap to 2030, and developed our Members Portal to enhance opportunities for member engagement.

Louis March Smith

Profile

I studied Geography at the University of Birmingham, primarily focusing on climate change, sustainability and ecological modules, including a dissertation on the impacts of climate change on the distribution of birds. After graduating, I undertook an internship at a non profit organisation, Climate Change Solutions, where I investigated the importance and feasibility for increasing solar energy production in the West Midlands, and further developed my interest and passion for sustainability. I have always been fascinated by maps and numbers, and love using my skills in data and mapping to inform key decisions and explain points more clearly.

Outside of work, I am a big Liverpool fan and love playing and watching football, as well as many other sports including tennis and badminton. I also enjoy taking my small cockapoo, Bramble, for walks in the countryside.
