Brum Biosphere Launch Event: A new way of life in our city

The Event

The Brum Biosphere Network is warmly inviting community organisations, visionary businesses and the people of Birmingham to join them at the Botanical Gardens for the launch of a new collaborative initiative that will reach out across the city.

Each day will start with a powerful presentation to show how collaboration can create a thriving city and unveil forty Birmingham projects.

There will be talks, activities and an exhibition, as well as a breakout zone allowing you to find community projects in your area of the city that you can join.

About the Brum Biosphere Network

The Brum Biosphere will be steered by those organisations that are rooted in their neighbourhoods and that are delivering real benefits to Brummies through their activities, all for a common cause: happiness, health, productivity, wellbeing and shared prosperity through a deep connection with community and nature.

This new city partnership will:

• build pride in our great city
• connect the people of Birmingham to nature and open spaces for their happiness, health, productivity, prosperity and wellbeing
• contribute to our region’s Local Nature Recovery Strategy to create a secure future for all
• support and grow the city’s local food movement
• strengthen the local economy by elevating those businesses that care about their workers and are passionate about Brum and its people, creating local networks and supply chains and increasing tourism.

Our born connection with the natural world is called biophilia which literally means “love of life” and that is what the Brum Biosphere is all about, creating a new way of life in our city.
