The Event

The Ecological Citizens in the Business school are hosting a workshop: Working with Nature in Developing Entrepreneurship Practices

This interactive workshop builds on a research project exploring what ecological citizenship might look like within a business school context. Rather than relying on textbooks and traditional teaching materials, the project has examined how learning in the with nature can influence business student’s perspectives on entrepreneurship, and reshaped their relationship with nature and planetary ecosystems.

Specifically, it has looked at how engaging with and connecting with nature as part of the business curriculum can change how business students relate to and think about their entrepreneurship practices

This workshop aims to bring together academics from different disciplines, students, business practitioners, community and environmental organisations, and members of the public to debate, share experiences, and explore implications for education and practice.

Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in a nature-based activity in the beautiful setting of Winterbourne House and Garden, facilitated by Jessica Adams, Nature-Based Leadership Facilitator, and to hear directly from current Birmingham Business School students who have been taking part in the project.
