Future Threads: Wolverhampton’s Youth Sustainable Fashion Showcase

The Event

Future Threads is a youth-led sustainable fashion project from Wolverhampton-based social enterprise Reinvntd CIC, bringing together climate education, creativity and practical action. Supported by the Save the Children Young People Climate Fund, the project has engaged secondary school students across Wolverhampton in learning about fast fashion, textile waste, overconsumption and the industry’s wider environmental impact.

Through hands-on workshops, young people are transforming pre-loved garments donated by local charity shops into original outfits using sewing, repair, embellishment and creative redesign techniques. Their finished pieces will be presented at Wolverhampton’s first youth sustainable fashion catwalk on Saturday 10 October 2026, from 1pm to 3pm, at the Mander Centre’s Lower Mall.

The free public showcase will celebrate the creativity, skills and climate leadership of local young people while demonstrating how unwanted clothing can be given a second life. Sustainable businesses, organisations and professionals from across the West Midlands are warmly invited to attend, connect with others and support the next generation of changemakers.

Future Threads is also supported by Wolverhampton BID, the University of Wolverhampton, participating schools, community partners, clothing donors and volunteers.
