Following the launch of the Green Homes Grant scheme, the Green Homes Grant skills training competition has been launched to provide support to the energy efficiency and low carbon heating supply chains to deliver works under the Green Homes Grant scheme, and to scale up to meet the additional consumer demand generated. The 2 main objectives of the Green Homes Grant scheme are to:
- bring forward investment in domestic energy performance and low carbon heating through subsidies, supporting an industry impacted by coronavirus (COVID-19), by securing jobs and creating new long-term jobs
- accelerate the installation of energy performance upgrades to the housing stock including installation of low carbon heat technologies, delivering increased carbon savings, and fuel poverty alleviation, in the residential sector, for our Carbon Budgets and Fuel Poverty Target
