Birmingham Museums Trust (BMT) is more than a collection of buildings and objects. Their role is not only that of a guardian of a world-class collection, but of an active contributor to social change; forging links between past, present and future in ways that inspire creativity, hope and trust.

BMT have a reputation for collaborating with and supporting organisations across the UK and internationally across a wide variety of museum services and extends to everything from developing an interactive Science Garden to developing partnerships in Higher Education. BMT bring people’s stories alive through exhibitions, special events and activities.

On their membership with SWM, they say:

“As we head towards net zero, we’re actively working together with our peers, partners and suppliers. This includes sharing our plans and solutions, taking advice and listening.
We have made a climate pledge to be Net Zero by 2040.
We will use less.
We will have a positive impact.
We will inspire others to take collective action.”

Our primary contact is Toby Watley, Director of Collections and Estates.
