The Crown Estate have some of the most ambitious sustainability goals of any real estate business and are driven by the purpose of creating lasting and shared prosperity for the nation.

Their focus is on long-term, structural challenges facing the country today:

  • Being a leader in supporting the UK towards a net zero carbon and energy-secure future.
  • Creating inclusive communities and supporting economic growth and productivity through their activities.
  • Taking a leading role in stewarding the UK’s natural environment and biodiversity.

Net zero forms part their strategic enterprise objectives, applicable to each of their strategic business units which span a range of sectors including real estate, rural and agricultural land, and energy infrastructure. They also work collaboratively with industry partners to identify opportunities to scale and deliver net zero.

On their membership with SWM, they say:

“The Crown Estate are looking to invest more in projects within the West Midlands, and want to meet potential partners and collaborators in the region who share our ambition and purpose. We want to link up innovators and thought leaders with our wider networks and national projects, for piloting, sharing of best practice, co-investing, etc.”

Our primary contact is Matthew Sampson, Regeneration Director.
