Our Roadmap to 2030The Crown Estate is a collection of lands and holdings in the United Kingdom belonging to the British monarch as a corporation sole, making it “the sovereign’s public estate”, which is neither government property nor part of the monarch’s private estate.
The Crown Estate have some of the most ambitious sustainability goals of any real estate business and are driven by the purpose of creating lasting and shared prosperity for the nation.
Their focus is on long-term, structural challenges facing the country today:
- Being a leader in supporting the UK towards a net zero carbon and energy-secure future.
- Creating inclusive communities and supporting economic growth and productivity through their activities.
- Taking a leading role in stewarding the UK’s natural environment and biodiversity.
Net zero forms part their strategic enterprise objectives, applicable to each of their strategic business units which span a range of sectors including real estate, rural and agricultural land, and energy infrastructure. They also work collaboratively with industry partners to identify opportunities to scale and deliver net zero.
