Young People Climate Fund open soon for applications

Save the Children UK’s Young People Climate Fund is open for applications from 10 – 30 November 2025

The link between the climate crisis and children’s lives has never been clearer to see, or more difficult to witness. In countries around the world including the UK, children from the poorest and most disadvantaged communities are being hit hardest. Save the Children is committed to doing all they can to tackle the climate crisis.

The Fund is designed to help youth-led organisations tackle the climate crisis and lead change for a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment.

Save the Children are looking to offer applicants grants of between £1,000 to £3,500 to organisations that are led or supported by children and/or young people aged 6-18, located in some areas of the West Midlands, and are looking to carry out activities, events or campaigns that take action to tackle the climate crisis, or look to teach and inspire young people about climate and nature based issues.

When planning your climate activity, it is recommended to consider:

  • Does your project directly involve young people (those under 18)?
  • Does your project listen to or amplify the views of young people or empowers them to raise their voice
  • Does your project create opportunities for young people to build skills by organising, presenting or leading the activities?
  • How can your project create lasting change in your community?
  • Who will be educated about climate change and environmental issues through your activity?
  • Is your project focused on the impact of climate change in the UK/Europe or Worldwide (either approach are good but it might be worthwhile for you to consider your project aims)
