Overview
The Leicestershire Business Gateway Growth Hub commissioned SWM to organise, produce and provide four webinars in the ‘Getting SMEs to Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050’ series. SWM presented webinars on the following key topics: what does Net Zero mean for SMEs in Leicestershire, the funding available at national and regional level, efficiency at home and work, and implementing renewable energy.
Aims
- For attendees to leave with something of value for their business
- To provide both innovative and practical sessions
- Deliver four 90-minute webinars with a minimum of 10 SMEs attending each
Outcomes
SWM successfully delivered all four workshops on the Microsoft Teams platform between May and July 2021, with all events exceeding the target audience of 10 businesses and a couple having over 35 businesses in attendance. The webinars were delivered on a weekly basis on the same day and at the same time to provide continuity for businesses wishing to attend more than one session.
SWM sourced example case studies for each webinar, ensuring that the ‘business voice’ was used to encourage other businesses to act. Each webinar provided clear, easy to understand practical solutions that individuals can apply in their businesses with little or no cost to them. Businesses were encouraged to ask questions of the speakers so as to further their understanding. Attendees were provided with the presentation slide packs which included links to useful resources and further information.
Testimonial from the Business Gateway Growth Hub:
“The speakers were inspiring and very knowledgeable and able to understand the needs of small/medium size businesses in the transition to low carbon emissions. SWM has provided a professional and efficient service and I would happily work with them again in the future.” Jay Lad, Events Officer, Leicester & Leicestershire LEP
