Funding available for West Midlands community-led circular economy projects

The Circular Economy Call to Action Fund offers grants of up to £5,000 to support community organisations delivering local circular economy projects across the West Midlands

The fund aims to support practical activities that help communities reduce waste, keep products and materials in use for longer, save money, build skills, and strengthen local resilience.

Eligible projects may include repair cafés, bike maintenance workshops, sewing and clothing repair sessions, tool libraries, reuse hubs, sharing schemes, and community learning activities focused on the circular economy.

Applications are invited from community groups, charities, Community Interest Companies (CICs), social enterprises and other not-for-profit organisations operating within the West Midlands Combined Authority area. Applicants must be members of the Community Environment Network (CEN) before submitting an application.

The programme seeks to support projects that create lasting benefits through skills development, partnerships, equipment, and ongoing community services.

For full guidance, eligibility criteria and application details, visit the fund webpage. The application pack and application form can be obtained by emailing environment@wmca.org.uk.

All applications need to be submitted to environment@wmca.org.uk by 23:59 on 4th October 2026.
