Placements & Projects Manager, Keele University

Headshot India Ford

Profile

India is currently working as a Placements & Projects Manager at Keele University, covering the disciplines of Geography, Geology and the Environment. Within this role, she supports students to gain access to experiential learning opportunities, helping them to enhance their employability skills and improve their graduate outcomes. A key part of her role is to develop strong relationships with external organisations, helping to bridge the gap between industry and academia.

Prior to this, India worked as an administrator for the £16 million Smart Energy Network Demonstrator (SEND) at Keele University. Additionally, as part of the SEND programme, she worked as a Research, Development and Innovation Associate, completing two research projects, focused on the feasibility of renewable microgeneration, in collaboration with Staffordshire SMEs.

A keen advocate for volunteering, the environment and community, India has previously combined all three by training/volunteering with Groundwork West Midlands, developing important rural skills, such as dry-stone walling and hedge-laying, as well as supporting community engagement events at Silverdale Country Park.

India holds a BSc in Environmental Earth Science (Aberystwyth University) and a Master’s in Environmental Sustainability and Green Technology (Keele University).

Outside of work, India enjoys walking in the countryside, visiting museums, reading and when possible, volunteering back at the country park!
