The AMRICC Centre is the UK’s open-access Centre of Excellence for Advanced Ceramics, translating materials, processes, and technologies into real-world products and solutions through the commercialisation of innovative ideas. Their prototyping, testing, and pilot plant facilities form the backbone of this, helping businesses to optimise and scale up their products and processes, allowing their ideas to reach market faster.

Ceramics manufacturing plays a foundational role in various key sectors, where business incentives and a groundswell of public support are now aligning to reward organisations that take the challenge of tackling climate change seriously.

Whether through access to their hydrogen blend furnace, capable of undertaking development work for hydrogen firing at concentrations from 20% to 100%, or through our process optimisation programmes that use data science, computer modelling, and computer vision to maximise efficiency and reduce energy waste, the experts and equipment here at the Centre stand ready to help business to overcome the technological challenges that will inevitably be encountered on their path to decarbonisation.
