The Event
Local government across the UK has a key role to play in securing the opportunities that flow from increased involvement of private money in environmental improvement. From National Park Authorities, to County Councils, Combined Authorities and councils for smaller areas, nature finance can help local government bodies to meet their duties, serving people and businesses in ways that contribute to economic resilience and vibrance.
Over the past two years, four local authority areas in England have been pursuing ways by which they can be enablers of private finance for the improvement of land, water and nature. They have been supported through the Local Investment in Natural Capital (LINC) programme, managed by the Environment Agency and funded by Defra on behalf of HM Government. SWM supported the West Midlands pilot project.
Learning from all four pilots is being pulled together and this webinar will allow you to hear about progress with each pilot and to gain insight into the unique role of local government as an enabler of the increased role for private money in securing the environment everyone needs.
