The Event
Join SHAP for their final session in the Retrofit Success Lunch and Learn series, which accompanies the launch of SHAP’s Retrofit Success Guides; bringing together insights from over 100 contributors with experience of planning, commissioning and delivering retrofit, as well as those experiencing its impact first-hand.
This session focuses on a critical question: how do we learn from retrofit delivery and use that learning to improve what comes next?
As retrofit activity scales, understanding what’s working – and what isn’t – becomes just as important as delivery itself. While evaluation is often treated as an end point, the most effective programmes are those that build learning and improvement into delivery from the outset.
In this session, we’ll be joined by Richard Davis (Operations Director, Prime Build Group), who will share reflections from Prime Build’s experience as a growing delivery partner, offering a candid view of retrofit delivery as it scales.
The session will also bring in perspectives from residents and communities, exploring what makes for a good retrofit experience and where delivery can fall short.
Drawing on insights from SHAP’s Retrofit Evaluation and Improvement guide, as well as the wider series, the discussion will explore:
- What delivery looks like in practice and why things don’t always go as planned
- How feedback from residents, delivery teams and partners can shape better outcomes
- The challenges faced by contractors and delivery partners when the scale of delivery programmes increases
- What needs to change to create stronger feedback loops across the retrofit lifecycle
This will be an open and practical conversation, grounded in real experience.
As always, there will be plenty of time for Q&A and open discussion.
