SWM Member Acocks Greener have set up SEBrum, for energy users in the Acocks Green and Hall Green area of Birmingham.
An innovative, new local energy co-operative, based in Acocks Green, has been set up, to enable those with solar panels in the Hall Green substation area (including most of Acocks Green) to trade their surplus electricity within the substation energy.
This allows sellers to receive a higher price and buyers to pay a lower price, than they would selling to and buying from the National Grid. It also, gives a better incentive to invest in solar PV and reduces strain on the Grid. Fox Hollies Forum have now joined so they can sell surplus electricity from the solar array on their roof.
