According to The Gender Index, the West Midlands has seen a sharp decline in the proportion of female-led companies, falling from 20.9% in 2023 to 17.3% in 2025. The region’s ranking for female-led businesses has also slipped significantly, dropping from second place behind London to eighth nationally.
The Women Entrepreneurs Pitch Competition aims to promote high-potential women-led businesses in the region and create a platform for women entrepreneurs to build their investor networks, hone their pitching skills, and develop their knowledge of how to attract investment.
It will see up to five high-growth potential women-led businesses pitch live to a panel of leading investors. At the end of the evening, just one business will be selected as the judges “one to watch” and winner of the competition.

In order to apply you will need to log in or register for a free Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) account. If you are a member, please ensure that you include your company membership number when creating an account. If you are not a GBCC member leave the membership number field blank. You do not need to be a GBCC member to apply.
Shortlisted applicants will receive a one-to-one briefing with a trained advisor to review and refine their pitch before taking part in the competition on the evening of Wednesday 11 November.
