Purpose of the presentations

This workshop, coordinated in partnership with SHAP, brought together local authority housing providers, sustainability officers and public health officers along with social housing providers to discuss how to address the problem of fuel poverty.  It allowed for networking across these different audiences as well as opportunities to share good practice.  Delegates heard from some excellent speakers – see below – who set the scene with respect to the national and regional fuel poverty picture, good examples of local and national practice and the event sponsors, Vectaire, demonstrated the importance of good ventilation in vulnerable homes.  They also brought along their various gadgets for people to have a play with!  The group also observed a minute’s silence at 11am to mark Remembrance Day.
