Purpose of the report
This report seeks to:
- describe elements of an ambitious low carbon vision for Coventry in 2020,
- identify action areas to achieve the step change necessary
- and recommend key ways to build momentum to capitalise on the presenting opportunities.
The report aims to inform and inspire its readers to play an active part in the journey to create a better future.
Relevance to the region
The energy, insight and drive already demonstrated will stand the City in good stead to capitalise on the opportunities that are bound to follow. Coventry has the potential to become a beacon of best practice. This report acts as a catalyst to stimulate further debate and galvanise programmes of action.
What we liked?
SWM was involved in working with Coventry Partnership in taking our work on a low carbon 2020 vision and applying it to Coventry. This involved a series of commissions with stakeholders on developing the ideas, applying them to Coventry, and developing their own local vision and actions. This has been subsequently fed into a conference and the emerging Local Enterprise Partnership – a great foundation for the future.
