Event

Shropshire Net Zero Leaders is a fully funded support initiative for businesses in the area who wish to measure and manage their carbon impacts, with a particular focus on cutting emissions along the supply chain.

This event marked the programme’s one-year milestone, bringing together participating businesses at Shrewsbury Town Football Club to share insights, discuss outcomes, and hear from case study speakers.

The keynote speaker was Dr. Julia Buckley, MP for Shrewsbury, who highlighted the importance of initiatives like Shropshire Net Zero Leaders and outlined the Government’s plans to support the transition to net zero. Members of the programme Morris & Company and Arrow County Supplies shared their net zero journeys and the role Shropshire Net Zero Leaders has played in supporting their progress, and Adrian Cooper gave an introduction to Carbon Literacy. A panel discussion followed, before Anna Bright gave an overview of the regional sustainability picture in the West Midlands including the latest data from the Sustainability Roadmap to 2030.

Ewan Bent closed the event by announcing an extension to the Shropshire Net Zero Leaders programme to December 2025, and confirming how businesses will continue to be supported in this timeframe.
