Purpose of the resource

The purpose of this document is to provide a summary of local energy priorities found within around 50 key strategies in the West Midlands area, representing an existing evidence base of over £3 million over the last ten years. This is to help inform the work of Energy Capital and the West Midlands Combined Authority and help to develop their programmes related to low carbon and energy planning. This summary shows there are a set of common local energy priorities which the Energy Capital initiative can help deliver through improved coordination, scale and leadership. Energy Capital is using these priorities when developing and reviewing its strategy and work plan. The West Midlands Combined Authority and other regional policy makers will also find this summary useful to inform future policy. The rest of this document includes a searchable table of strategies and priorities and the methodology used to allow future updates.
