Driving Net Zero Innovation in Health: Discovery Session

The Event

The University of Birmingham and NHS England are working together, focusing on the shared mission of delivering practical, scalable net zero solutions that support both climate and health goals across the NHS estate. To take their plans and partnership forward, they are planning a Discovery Session, a regionally focused event that will:

• Bring together stakeholders from the University of Birmingham, NHS trusts, the West Midlands Innovation Network and Small and Medium sized enterprises (SMEs)
• Showcase sustainable innovations and reflect on what it takes to scale them – testing and learning together
• Develop practical and actionable next steps for supporting sustainability and net zero solutions for the region and beyond

At the heart of this effort is BISCA, which will play a leading role as a convenor and innovation hub. The day will be supported by a Living Lab methodology to ensure ideas are tested, translated, and ready to scale.
