Energy Capital Partnership – Autumn Conference 2025

The Event

Join WMCA’s Energy Capital team for the highlight of their year as we champion the trailblazing work their partners are delivering to implement the West Midlands Regional Energy Strategy, building towards a smarter, fairer energy system.

There will be a demonstration of the tangible steps that have been taken to realising their strategic vision for the Partnership, explore key upcoming policy opportunities, and shine a light on best practice examples of local net zero delivery throughout the region.

At the heart of Energy Capital’s work is a place-based approach. Taking into account the unique characteristics of areas within the region is the only way to ensure we build an energy system that unlocks inclusive growth, enables net zero, and achieves a whole range of improved outcomes from housing to health for our communities.

Throughout the conference, we will hear about how Energy Capital is championing place-based delivery, and empowering local authorities by collaborating across the region on shared challenges:

– via their policy framework, such as the devolved Integrate Settlement for retrofit funding

– by engaging with and co-designing Net Zero Neighbourhoods with communities

– via innovation projects, pioneering ways to feed spatial data into energy system planning processes or blend funding sources to invest in net zero projects
