SWM are recruiting for several important roles on our board: Chair & two Directors
Sustainability West Midlands (SWM) was established in 2002 as an independent, not-for-profit organisation. We strive to make the West Midlands region more sustainable, fairer and greener for all and work across the whole West Midlands including the Combined Authority area as well as the surrounding areas of Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire. Our vision is that the West Midlands is leading in contributing to the national target of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 whilst addressing health inequality and driving inclusive growth. This is framed through our Roadmap to 2030.
We have over 200 diverse members who are leading individuals and organisations in the private, public, and third sectors including large businesses like Arup, Mott MacDonald, Lyreco and Severn Trent. We are a unique organisation working with 1,000’s of cross-sector stakeholders across the region. Alongside our membership, we deliver a broad range of consultancy projects, providing independent advice to a range of customers including combined authorities, local authorities, the NHS, and the private sector.
We are seeking a new Chair and two Directors to join us and help support our continued growth.
We are hoping to find a Director with specific experience in financial management.
We welcome applications from those that may not have served on a Board before.
“I really value being a Board Director of SWM. It is great to be part of a collaborative, purpose-led organisation that supports the leaders of the West Midlands in delivering on sustainability. At the same time, I gain a lot from working with colleagues with diverse business and life experiences on the Board. If you’re interested in being part of a leading sustainability group and want to contribute on the Board, I would strongly encourage you to apply”
Andrew Pollard, Former Chair of the SWM Board
