Founded as England’s first civic university, UoB’s commitment to social responsibility is stronger than ever. Declaring a climate emergency in 2022 and have embedded sustainability within their Birmingham 2030 Strategic Framework, guiding research, education, campus operations and community action.

University of Birmingham embed sustainability in everything they do, making it second nature across research, teaching and operations. Commitment driven by the University Executive Board governance, with their Sustainability Steering Group (SSG) and senior leadership ensure accountability and drive towards our net-zero goals. Developing institutional sustainability policy and strategies producing annual sustainability and carbon accounting reports.
