Fircroft College are accepting applications to their ‘Community Green Changemakers’ course.
Following on from the successes of the Green Changemakers programme for
educators, the Green Skills: Building the Future courses, Mother Garden Bootcamps
and the launch of the Cross Pollinator course, this Community Green Changemakers
course is Fircroft’s newest sustainability offer.
About the course:
The course aims to elevate the knowledge and skills of green and sustainable issues and solutions within community projects. It consist of 2 residential weekends covering the classroom learning (there will also be some use of outdoor space and practical activities throughout these), and 2 non-residential practical days in our grounds. It covers topics such as:
- The 15 Green Skills and how these can be embraced at and individual and community level.
- The Changemaker model and how to influence change in a community/group.
- Introducing donut economics/circular economy thinking to a project.
- Understanding and exploring sustainability and ‘green’ terminology.
- Utilising nature and the outdoors in community projects for food growing, wellbeing, biodiversity, arts & crafts.
- Circular food systems.
- An individual research project to explore a specific relevant topic or project idea.
When: 2 Residential Weekends at the College and 2 Non-residential days, between Friday 4 to Sunday 20 July 2025
Level: Level 3 course
Entry Requirements: Must be working at Level 1 Literacy or above
