Innovate UK: CleanTech Investor Showcase Events
Carbon Limiting Technologies Ltd (CLT) are running a series of events on behalf of Innovate UK over the next two years, supported by SWM. These events will bring clean tech innovators together with investors; giving innovators the chance to pitch for investment, and giving investors the chance to better understand the market opportunities and policy support for these innovations, and ultimately invest. These events are taking place around the UK, and will each focus on a different clean tech theme.

Local Government Association: Local Retrofit Action Planning
This project was a training programme for local authority teams working in retrofit. It sought to support the development of their work by exploring how to develop effective partnerships locally and nationally. The project focused on three key themes: training providers, communities and the retrofit supply chain. SWM worked with member organisations the Sustainable Housing Action Partnership who provided technical expertise and retrofit, and Contented Ltd who provided coaching and mentoring expertise.

East of England Local Government Association: East of England Regional Climate Change Forum: Baseline Analysis
The East of England Regional Climate Change Forum (RCCF) brings together representatives from 8 climate change partnerships across the region, together representing over 50 local authorities. The Forum is run by the East of England Local Government Association (EELGA), who support it to achieve climate action targets. For this project, EELGA asked SWM for an analysis of each partnership’s climate change progress, and an explanation of the barriers to delivery of climate change action across the region.

Local Government Association: Climate Change Sector Support Programme - Regional Retrofit Action Plan Training
Delivered through a collaboration between the Local Government Association (LGA) and Sustainability West Midlands, the Regional Retrofit Action Plan Training brought together council officers to address retrofit challenges at the local and partnership level. The training supported the development of councils’ regional work by exploring how to effectively utilise and support key partners and stakeholders both nationally and regionally, focusing on three key themes: training providers, communities, and the private sector.

National Lottery Heritage Fund: Embedding sustainability principles into the heritage sector
This project concluded nearly four years of support to the Heritage Fund, the overarching outcome being the full embedment of sustainability across the organisation, both through staff training and the development of a framework to allow staff to assess applications for their sustainability credentials in a consistent way in future.

Climate Change Committee: Improving the accessibility of the UK Climate Change Risk Assessment -Part 2
Part two of this project, which provides support to the Climate Change Committee on improving the accessibility of outputs associated with the Independent Assessment of UK Climate Risk, focused on producing outputs that considers the above advice, to bring thousands of pages of text to life and make the key findings and messages clearer, more digestible and understood by the primary audience, which is central Government.

Climate Change Committee: Improving the accessibility of the UK Climate Change Risk Assessment – Part 1
SWM provided advice to the Committee on Climate Change on how to improve the accessibility of the the third UK Climate Change Risk Assessment Evidence Report, due for publication next year. The project looked at better use of communications, providing engagement opportunities and reframing of outputs.

National Lottery Heritage Fund: Sustainability webinar for Heritage Fund staff and applicants
This project brought to a head over two years of support to the Heritage Fund as we ran a webinar for around 65 staff and potential grantees on how sustainability aspects can be better embedded into funding applications.

Cheshire East Council: Supporting Cheshire East’s move from carbon neutral ambition to action and delivery
Cheshire East Council sought support from SWM to help facilitate a workshop for Councillors and senior council leaders to enable them to consider how they can meet their carbon neutral targets and fulfill their climate emergency declaration.
